  • 1

    cup warm water (110 degrees)

  • cup white sugar

  • teaspoons active dry yeast

  • ¾

    teaspoons salt

  • 2

    tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 3

    cups bread flour

In a large bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water and then stir in the yeast.Allow to proof until the mixture is foamy (approx 10 minutes). Mix salt and oil into the yeast. Mix in flour, one cup at a time. Knead dough on lightly floured surface until smooth. Place in a well piled bowl, turn to coat and cover with a damp cloth. Allow to rise until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour. Punch dough down. Knead for a few minutes. Shape into a loaf and place into a greased loaf pan. Allow to rise for 30 minutes, or until dough is one inch above pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
