- 1 pound string green beans
- Salt
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Freshly ground pepper

Step 1
Cut the string beans in approximately 2-inch lengths, diagonally.
Bring a large pan of heavily salted water to a boil.
Add the beans and boil for 3 or 4 minutes, or until barely tender.
Drain and refresh in iced water for 1 minute.
Drain and dry well.
When ready to serve, heat the butter in a sauté pan until it is foamy.
Add the beans and toss in the butter for 1 or 2 minutes, until heated through.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve in a heated serving bowl or arrange attractively on each plate as an accompaniment to an entrée.
