Ingredients

  • 1 can (16 ounces) refrigerated jumbo buttermilk biscuits (8 biscuits)
  • 2 1-pound packages Jimmy Dean® Original Hearty Pork Sausage
  • 1/2 cup Argo Corn Starch
  • 1 Quart Buttermilk
  • 1 to 1-1/2 cups milk
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

1. Bake biscuits according to package directions.

2. Cook sausage in large skillet over medium heat until thoroughly heated, stirring frequently.
3. Mix corn starch and buttermilk in a container and shake well.
4. Add that to meat mixture. Stir constantly as gravy will thicken.
5. Add the rest of the Buttermilk and regular milk
6. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
6. Season with salt and pepper (to taste - or just put salt and pepper on the table allowing each person to season as the like it).
7. Split biscuits in half. Place 2 halves on each of 8 plates; top with about 1/3 cup gravy.


Yield:

8 servings (1 biscuit and about 1/3 cup gravy each)
