- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pound flank steak
- 3 red onions, thickly sliced crosswise

Step 1
In a shallow baking dish, whisk together the orange juice, ginger, honey, salt, and pepper. Add the steak and onions and let marinate for 30 minutes at room temperature. Reserve the marinade.
Preheat a grill or a ridged grill pan to medium. Lightly oil the grill grates or grill pan. Grill the onions, turning occasionally, until crisp-tender, about 10 minutes. Transfer the onions to a bowl and keep warm.
Grill the steak, turning once, until medium-rare, about 10 minutes. Let the meat rest 5 minutes on a cutting board before thinly slicing it across the grain.
4. While the meat is resting, transfer the reserved marinade to a small saucepan and boil until reduced by half, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in any meat juices accumulated on the cutting board. Serve the meat with the onions and sauce.
