- 3/4 cup cranberry halves
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 4 tbsp shortening, melted

Step 1
Mix cranberry halves with powdered sugar and let stand while preparing muffin mixture. Sift dry ingredients, add egg, milk and melted shortening all at once; mix until dry ingredients are dampened; do not beat. Fold in sugared cranberries. Fill muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake in moderate oven 350 F for 20 minutes.
