Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 t. vanilla
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 3/4 t. baking powder
  • 3/4 t. baking soda
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 1/3 c. sour cream
  • 1-3/4 c. salted whole cashew nuts
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/4 t. vanilla
  • 3 T. table cream
  • 2 c. sifted confectioners sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with sour cream. Mix well. Carefully fold in nuts. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Prepare frosting as follows: Lightly brown butter. Remove from heat and add cream and vanilla. Stir in sugar and beat until smooth and thick enough to spread.

Cool cookies and top with frosting. Top each cookie with a cashew nut.
