Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. lean boneless, fatless pork
  • 1/2 c ketchup
  • 1/4 c cider vinegar
  • 1 t celery seed
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/2 t chili powder
  • 1/8 t cinnamon
  • 1/8 t nutmeg
  • 1 cup water
  • few drops of liquid red pepper sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat broiler.
Place meat on rack in pan and place 4 inches from broiler.
Broil 10 min on each side or until browned.
Place meat in Dutch oven, and set aside.
Reset oven to 325.
In small saucepan, over medium-high heat, combine remaining ingredients except pepper sauce with 1 cup water.
Bring to a boil.
Pour over the meat and cover.
Roast for 1 to 1/2 hours until meat is tender, turning the meat occasionally.
Remove meat from pan, skim fat from sauce.
Boil the sauce on med-high until reduced and thickened slightly.
Shred meat and return to the pan with the sauce, reheating if necessary.
