Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, diced
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 3 cups chicken stock
  • 2 cups potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

In large saucepan, cook onions and celery in butter until soft. Add flour and stir until smooth.
In another pot cook the potatoes in enough water to cover.
Stir chicken stock into the pot containng the onion and celery. Add the cooked potatoes, and water too. Bring to boil and let simmer together. Add milk and cook 5 minutes longer. Do not boil after milk is added. Season to taste.
