  • 1 4-ounce package German Sweet Chocolate 2 eggs
  • 3 Tablespoons butter 3/4cup sugar
  • 1 3 ounce package cream cheese 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 Tablespoons butter 1/2 cup unfitted flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar 1/4teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 Tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • Prepared cream cheese frosting

Preparation

Step 1

Melt German chocolate and 3 tablespoons butter over very low heat. Stir then cool. Cream the package of cream cheese with 2 Tablespoons butter. Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar beating until fluffy. Blend in 1 egg, 1 Tablespoon flour and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Set aside. Beat the 2 eggs until lemon colored. Slowly add 3/4 cup sugar and beat until thick. Add baking powder, salt and 1/2 cup flour. Blend in the chocolate mixture, along with 1-teaspoon vanilla, almond extract, and chopped nuts. Spread 1/2 the chocolate batter in a greased 8 or 9-inch pan. Cover with cheese mixture. Spoon remaining chocolate batter over top carefully. Zig Zag knife through batter to marble. Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool. Frost if desired with a cream cheese frosting.
