- 3 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Dash pepper
- 2 cups milk

Step 1
In a small saucepan, melt butter. Whisk in the flour, salt and pepper until smooth. Gradually whisk in milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
Cheese Sauce: Omit salt. Add 1-1/2 cup desired cheese (cheddar, Swiss, American, Gruyere) For Parmesan, only add 1/2 cup.
