Ingredients

3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup dark molasses
1 egg
2 cups sifted flour
2 t. soda
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. cloves
1 t. ginger

Preparation

Step 1

Cream sugar and shortening. Add molasses and egg. Beat well. Sift together dry ingredients and beat with sugar mixture until smooth. Roll into balls then roll in sugar. Bake on unprepared cookie sheet at 350 degrees 7-8 minutes.
