Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken
- 1 Tablespoon oil
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 Tablespoon Catsup
- 1/4 cup apple juice or sherry
- 1/2 to 3/4 crushed red pepper
- 1 garlic clove-pressed
- 1 green onion-sliced
- 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 Tablespoon water
- 2 Tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Preparation
Step 1
Heat oil in dutch oven. Brown chicken all sides. Mix soy, sugar, water, catsup, juice, red pepper, garlic and onion. pour over chicken. Cover. Simmer 35 to 45 minutes. Remove chicken to platter draining juice back into pan. Skim fat from sauce. Blend together cornstarch and water. Stir in to sauce. Cook, stirring constantly until thick. Spoon over chicken. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve chicken with remaining
sauce. Toast seeds in shallow pan at 350 for 10 minutes. Stir frequently.
