Comfort Soup with Rivels

- 2 quarts chicken broth
- 1- 1 1/2 # chicken breast cubed
- 1 TLB chicken soup base
- 2 ribs celery, sliced thin
- 1 carrot peeled and sliced thin
- 3/4 alphabet pasta
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c flour

Directions
1.Place chicken broth, soup base and cut up chicken into a medium size pot or dutch oven, cover, and bring to a gentle boil.
2.While this is cooking, peel and slice carrot and celery. Add to broth.
3.Cover and simmer (or gentle boil) 30 minutes.
4.While broth mixture is simmering, break 1 egg into a pie pan, and sprinkle with salt. Beat well with fork.
5.Stir flour a little at a time into the egg mixture and mix with fingers until no more flour can be incorporated. Work dough into small pea size rivels.
6.Bring broth back to boil and add alphabet pasta and rivels. Cover and simmer 15-20 minutes.
7.*onions and other seasonings can be added to taste, however we like this just the way it is.
