Ingredients
- CAKE:
- 1 stick of unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup of Crisco
- 1 cup water
- 4 tablespoons of cocoa (heaping)
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- ICING:
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons cocoa
- 6 tablespoons whole milk
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup cut up walnuts
- 3/4 cup coconut (angel flaked)

Preparation
Step 1
Put butter, Crisco, water and cocoa in pan and bring to boil point (Do Not Boil). Take off stove. Let cool.
Mix sugar and eggs together. Beat well. Add vanilla and buttermilk in mixer.
Sift flour, baking soda and salt together. Add to sugar and egg mixture. Add cooled chocolate mixture and mix well.
Pour in greased and floured pan or pans. Bake at 350 degrees about 35 minutes or until done.

Put butter, cocoa and milk in pan. Bring to boiling point, stir all the time. Take off of stove. Cool. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir in walnuts and coconut. Pour over cake.
