  • 5 - 6 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup oil

Step 1

Grease two loaf pans. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, salt and yeast in mixer and blend. Heat water and oil until very warm, (120 - 130 degrees). Add warm liquid to flour mixture. Blend at low speed until moistened (3 minutes). Sitr in additional flour and knead until dough is smooth and elastic with blisters under the surface. Place dough in a greased bowl; cover loosely with plastic wrap and cloth towel and let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk, about 1-1/2 hours.
Punch dough down to remove all air bubbles. Divide dough into two parts; mold into balls and allow to rest on counter, covered with an inverted bowl for 15 minutes. For finer grain, remove air pockets roll into 2, 14 x 9 inch rectaclnes. Place in prepared pans and let rise in warm palce until tops are 1 inch above the top of the pans.
Bake at 375 degrees for 45 - 55 minutes. Remove frm pans immediatley.
