  • Pie:
  • May prepare ahead
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
  • 1 10 inch unbaked pie shell
  • Topping:
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • Whipped cream, optional

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix flour, salt and sugar. Add egg, sour cream and vanilla, beating until smooth. Stir in apples. Pour mixture into pie shell. Bake 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue baking 30 minutes longer. Remove from oven.

Mix topping ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle over pie and bake 10 minutes at 425 degrees.

Serve with whipped cream if desired.
