Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef (or you can mix beef, pork, turkey, etc)
  • 3/4 c oats, uncooked
  • 1/4 c chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 1 c tomato juice
  • 1 beaten egg

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all ingredients thoroughly.
Pack firmly into a loaf pan.
Bake in a preheated over - 350 degrees.
Bake for 1 hour 15 min.
Let stand 5 minutes before slicing.

Variation: Add a few tablespoons of tomato paste sweetened with 2 t sugar during the last 15 minutes of cooking time.
