SPAGHETTI WITH MEATBALLS

Ingredients
- FOR SAUCE:
- 2 Tbls oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 stalks celery sliced thin
- 2 cloves chopped garlic
- 1 No. 2 can (2 1/2 cups) tomatoes (can of diced tomatoes works well)
- 1 6 oz. can tomato paste
- 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
- 2 cups water or stock
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 Tbls. sugar
- 1 bay leaf
- l large pinch of the following spices: oregano, thyme, basil, marjoram, rosemary (or about 2 teaspoons of Italian seasonings according to your taste).
- FOR MEAT BALLS:
- 3/4 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 lb. ground pork
- 1 cup fine, dry bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 well beaten eggs
- Salt & Pepper
- 1 8-oz. pkg. long spaghetti, cooked

Preparation
Step 1
TO PREPARE SPAGHETTI SAUCE:
Brown onions,celery and garlic in heated 01l.
Add tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, water and seasonings.
Cook slowly for 1 hour.
TO PREPARE MEATBALLS:
Combine all remaining ingredients to make meatballs.
Mix well and form into small balls.
Brown in hot oil.
Add to sauce and cook over low heat for 15-30 minutes.
Cook spaghetti noodles according to package directions.
Drain and place on large platter. Pour sauce and meatballs over noodles.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve.
