Ingredients

  • 1/4 c sesame seeds
  • 1/4 c sliced green onions(including tops)
  • 3 T soy sauce
  • 2 T sesame oil
  • 1 T each vinegar, firmly packed brown sugar, minced fresh ginger, and minced garlic
  • 1 teas each dry mustard and Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 lb flank steak

Preparation

Step 1

Toast sesame seeds in a wide frying pan over medium heat until golden (3 min)
shake pan often. Crush seeds with a mortar and pestle, then place in a bowl and stir in onions, oil, vinegar, sugar, ginger, garlic, mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
Place steak in a 9 x 13 glass dish. Pour marinade over steak, turn steak to coat. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or over night. Turn steak several times.
Lift steak from marinade and drain. Reserve marinade. Place on a lightly greased grill over hot coals. Cook turning once and baste with reserved marinade. Grill to your liking. To serve let steak stand 5 min, cut across the grain into thin slanting slices.
