- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 5 eggs
- 5 tsp baking powder
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 tsp lemon rind
- 1 tsp vanilla or vanilla sugar

Preparation
Step 1
Beat butter until very soft. Add sugar gradually, beating until very light and creamy. Beat in 5 eggs one at a time. Add flour and milk alternately beating batter until smooth after each addition. Add raisins, lemon rind and vanilla. Bake in a round form pan at 350 degrees for one hour and fifteen minutes. When cold, sprinkle with icing sugar.
