Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups water
- 1 ts salt
- 1 cup grits *quick or regular*
- 4 T butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- (2 ts black pepper for savory grits)

Preparation
Step 1
1. Bring milk and water to a boil over med heat. Stir in salt, solwly add grits, stirring constantly.
2. When grits begin to thicken, turn heat down to low and simmer for 30-40 min. Stir occasionally.
3. Stir in butter and cream and simmer for 5 min. (add pepper if using)
