  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped (about 2 teaspoons)
  • 1 teaspoons parsley, chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons basil
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (14 ounce) can chunky crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Step 1

Place oil and garlic in a medium saucepan and heat over medium heat until garlic sizzles. Add herbs. Allow the oil to infuse for a minute. Add tomatoes and pinch of salt and pepper. Stir. Bring sauce to a slight boil. Reduce heat and allow to simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
