  • 1 cup powdered sugar, plus more for dusting
  • 1 cup shortening minus 4/5 tbsp
  • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp ice water
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Step 1

Heat oven to 300.
Cream sugar and shortening. Add ingredients in order, mixing after each. Chill thoroughly. Make into small balls. Bake for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar while hot.
