Ingredients
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 4 Tbs. Molasses
- 2 cup flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. cloves

Preparation
Step 1
Cream shortening and sugar. Add an egg. Add molasses. Add dry ingredients. Mix until well blended.
Roll into balls and roll in sugar. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees.
Cookies will flatten and puff. Do not over bake or they will become dunkers. If they are not all eaten in the first day, add a slice of bread to the cookie jar to keep them soft.
