BROILED MARINATED SHRIMP

Ingredients
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 3 Tbsps olive oil
- 3/4 tsp leaf oregano, crumbled
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp ground allspice
- 1/8 tsp ground hot red pepper
- 1 bay leaf, halved
- 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice

Step 1
Combine garlic, olive oil, oregano, salt, allspice, ground red pepper and bay leaf in large bowl or food storage bag; mix well. Add shrimp; mix to coat.
Refrigerate 4 hours, turning shrimp in marinade every 30 minutes. Add lemon juice during last 15 minutes of marinating and mix well.
Preheat broiler. Remove bay leaf from marinade.
Broil shrimp 4 inches from heat for 4 to 5 minutes, turning once during cooking, until cooked through. Serve hot or at room temperature. Discard any remaining marinade.
