Cocoa Bars*

This is another recipe from Jean Amos, Damian loved Aunt Jeans Cocoa bars. I can't quite make them just like hers.

Ingredients

• 1-1/2 cups sugar
• 3/4 cup shortening
• 4 eggs
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 1-1/2 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons soda
• 4 Tablespoons or 1/4 cup cocoa
• 1/2 cup nuts
• 1 package miniature marshmallows

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together sugar, shortening, eggs and salt. Mix in other ingredients except marshmallows.
Bake in greased and floured 10x15 inch pan. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven, cover with marshmallows. Put back in the oven for 4 minutes. Let cool and frost.

Frosting:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup water
1 Tablespoon cocoa
Bring to a boil and boil 3 minutes, remove from heat and add; 3 Tablespoons of margarine
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 cups powder sugar
Beat and spread on top of marshmllows.
