Ingredients
- 1/4 C onion, small dice
- 3 garlic cloves, cut in half
- 1/4 C olive oil extra virgin
- 1 32 oz whole tomatoes with juice
- 1 T tomato paste
- 1 bay leaf
- salt and pepper
- 1 pinch sugar
- 1 basil sprigs, fresh

Preparation
Step 1
Saute garlic about 5 min. Add the tomato paste stirring for 1 min. Add tomatoes and their juices. Stir in sugar and basil. Season with salt & pepper. Simmer over low heat until it thickens and is reduced about 30 minutes. Discard basil and garlic
