Ingredients

  • 1/4 C onion, small dice
  • 3 garlic cloves, cut in half
  • 1/4 C olive oil extra virgin
  • 1 32 oz whole tomatoes with juice
  • 1 T tomato paste
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • 1 basil sprigs, fresh

Preparation

Step 1

Saute garlic about 5 min. Add the tomato paste stirring for 1 min. Add tomatoes and their juices. Stir in sugar and basil. Season with salt & pepper. Simmer over low heat until it thickens and is reduced about 30 minutes. Discard basil and garlic
