SYRUP - CRANBERRY

Stir a spoonful of this seasonal wholeberry syrup into softened butter as well and serve both with hearty waffles.

Ingredients
- 1 C. water
- 1/2 C. sugar
- 1/2 12 oz. bag cranberries
- 1/4 C. maple syrup
- 1/4 C. coarsely chopped pecans
- 1 tsp. grated lemon rind

Preparation
Step 1
1. In 2-quart saucepan, combine water and sugar. Cook, without stirring, over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
2. Stir in cranberries, maple syrup, nuts and lemon rind. Simmer just until berries begin to pop - about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
3. Serve cranberries warm or cover and store in refrigerator until ready to use.
