Ingredients

  • 1 break baquette, sliced
  • 1/3 C Olive Oil
  • 1 lb Italian sausage, bulk
  • 2 t miced garlic
  • 1 jar Pizza Sauce
  • 1/4 C sweet varmouth (optional)
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • fresh ground pepper
  • 1 C grated asiago cheese
  • 1 bunch fresh basil leaves, minced
  • fresh basil garnish (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Brush bread slices with olive oil
bake in preheated 350 degree oven 8-10 minutes or until golden.
In skillet brown sausage and garlic
drain all fat
stir in Pizza Sauce and vermouth
Simmer 15 minutes
remove from heat and stir in green onions and season with pepper to taste

spread mixture on bread slices.

Sprinkle with asiago.
Place on cookie sheet
Bake 4-8 minutes until cheese melts and is golden
Sprinkle with minced basil leaves
Garnish platter with basil sprigs
