Ingredients

  • Won Ton Wrappers or make your own as follows:
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 8 water chesnuts chopped
  • 1 egg slightly beaten
  • 2 tsp soy suce
  • 2 TBS thinly sliced green onion
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp powdered ginger
  • 1-3 tsp five spice
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp peanut oil
  • cornstarch for dusing
  • Dip
  • 1/3 c. dark soy sauce
  • 3 slices ginger, minced
  • 2 tsp. Oriental sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/3 c. rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. chili oil
  • Combine all ingredients and let stand 10 minutes to blend.

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all ingredients for filling together and set aside in regrgerator if making wrappers.

For wrappers:
Combine eggs and water. Beat in 1 cup flour. Mix in remaining 1 cup flour, salt and peanut oil. Knead on lightly floured board until dough is smooth. Divide dough in half and keep one part covered while you prepare the other half. Roll out dough to 8" long tube cut into 8 pcs and cut 8 pcs into 8 (you will have a total of 16). Roll each into a ball by hand and roll out into circle. Put 1 tsp of filling in each. Pull up sides and squeeze shut (like a purse). Steam 10-20 minutes and serve with your favorite dipping sauce
