Ingredients
- Cake:
- 1/2 C buttermilk
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 eggs slightly beaten
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 C water
- 2 C sugar
- 2 C flour
- 4 Tbls cocoa
- Icing:
- 1 stick butter
- 1/3 C milk
- 3 tsp vanilla
- 4 Tbls Cocoa
- 2 2/3 C powdered sugar (1 box)
- (I add about 1 tsp cinnamon to icing)
- Nuts - optional

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees (glass pan at 325 degrees)
Bring to boil 2 sticks butter and 1 C water; boil until blended and pour over these items sifted -2 C sugar, 2 C flour, 4 Tbls cocoa.
Add the following:
1/2 C buttermilk
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs slightly beaten
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Bake in greased and floured pan for 30 minutes
Icing:
Melt butter and add remaining ingredients - pour on warm cake.
