Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa (rounded)
- 3 Tbsp. light corn syrup (Karo)
- 1 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla

Step 1
Combine sugar, cocoa, syrup and milk. Cook over medium heat to soft ball stage (7-8 min.). Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Cool slightly and beat until candy loses gloss and thickens. Pour into lightly buttered pan.
If you butter the top of the pot it will help bring down sugar crystals and candy won't boil over as easily.
Soft ball stage: 235 to 240 degrees.
