Ingredients

  • ANISE ICING:
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 5 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter; melted
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 bottles anise
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup Crisco
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • milk
  • 1/2 box powered sugar
  • 1/2 bottle anise
  • colored sprinkles

Preparation

Step 1

*cookie* in small bowl add flour and baking powder; mix; set aside. In large bowl melt butter and Crisco in microwave; slowly add sugar while continuously mixing with electric beater. Beat in 1 egg at a time. Add salt and anise; mix well. Add flour mixture; mix well. Sprinkle counter and hands lightly with flour and roll dough into a snake and form a spiral cookie. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake @375 for 10-15 minutes or until bottom is light brown

*icing* beat all ingredients except sprinkles, with electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Spread icing on cooled cookies and immediately sprinkle with assorted candy sprinkles
