Ingredients

  • 2 T olive oil
  • 7 Cloves garlic
  • 1 1/2 C Chopped onions
  • 1 1/2 C green bell pepper
  • 3 lbs Lean beef or turkey
  • 1 (5oz) jar green olives pitted and halved
  • 5 oz Capers (rinsed/drained)
  • 1/4 C White vinegar
  • 1 t Salt
  • 1 t Fresh Ground pepper
  • 1 t Cinnamon
  • 1 t Ground cloves
  • 2 Dried bay leaves
  • 1/4 t Hot sauce
  • 6 C canned tomatoes half drained

Preparation

Step 1

Need: Deep pot or casserole and saute pan.

Heat 1T o/o over medium heat. Saute garlic, onion & green pepper until transparent; Set aside. Add 1T o/o to pot and saute meat until brown.

Saute olives, capers, vinegar, salt and pepper, cinnamon, cloves and bay leaves & hot sauce; 10 minutes.

Add together in large pot and add tomatoes. Stir occasionally.

Serve with rice or beans.
