Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sour cream (room temp.)
  • 1 pkg. (2 1/4 teasp.)active dry yeast
  • 1 lg. egg slightly beaten
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter(cut into small pieces)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup fruit preserves

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Combine sour cream, yeast set aside 10 mins. until slightly bubbly. Stir in egg until smooth and set aside.
2. Blend flour and butter with pastry cutter until crumbly. Stir in sour cream mixture until dough comes together.
3. Roll out dough on floured surface to 1/4" thick and 2 1/2" rounds. Transfer to ungreased sheet pan. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit 15 mins.
Make thumb print in center of each.
Bake until edges are golden 12-15 mins.
Let cool in pan 5 mins. transfer to wire rack.
While still warm, drizzle with glaze.

GLAZE:
1 cup confectioners sugar sifted
2 Tablespoons unsalted butter melted
2 teasp light corn syrup
2-3 Tablespoons whole milk

Combine sugar and butter. Add corn syrup. Drizzle in milk a little at a time.
