Ingredients

  • FILLING:
  • 1/2 cup hard margarine, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1-3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 CUP SEMISWEET CHOCOLATE CHIPS
  • 1/3 CUP BROWN SUGAR, PACKED
  • 3/4 TSP GROUND CINNAMON
  • CHOCOLATE GLAZE:
  • 1/4 cup semi sweet choc. chips

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar well in mixing bowl. Beat in eggs 1 at a time. Add vanilla. Mix.

Measure flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into separate bowl. Stir.

Add source cream to be batter in 2 parts alternately with flour mixture in 3 parts beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir just enough to moisten. Spread 1/2 of batter in greased 9x9 inch pan.

FILLING: Sprinkle chocolate chips over batter in pan.

Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle over chocolate chips. Spoon remaining batter in small spoonfuls over all. Spread as evenly as you can. Bake in 350 oven for about 40 to 45 minutes until an inserted wooden pick comes out clean.

Sprinkle chocolate chips in rows over hot cake. Let stand to melt. Swirl with knife. Serve warm.
