Ingredients
- 2 lbs peeled and diced potatoes
- 6 TB butter
- 1/2 - 1 head garlic cloves, peeled and mashed
- 1/2 - 3/4 cup milk, warmed
- salt and pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh chives

Preparation
Step 1
Place potatoes in a large pan and add water to cover. Put a lid on and bring to a boil over medium heat. Once potatoes are boiling, reduce heat slightly and simmer until potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Drain potatoes and set aside. Return empty pan to heat and add butter. When butter melts, add garlic. Cook until tender. Return cooked potatoes to pan. Mash or whip with immersion blender until nearly smooth, gradually adding warm milk. Add salt and pepper, and chives, if desired.
