Hamburger Stroganoff

An old recipe of mom's. Growing up, stroganoff was considered one of those "elite" meals that we had never eaten. One of the first times mom fixed it, substituting hamburger for beef, we thought we were quite impressed

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup minced onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 lb (or more) ground beef
- 2 TBSP flour
- 2 tsp salt
- Pepper
- 1 # fresh mushrooms, sliced (can use canned)
- 1 can cream of chicken soup, undiluted
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 TBSP minced garlic
- Poppy Seed Noodles
- Noodles
- Poppy seeds
- butter
- salt
- Almonds

Preparation
Step 1
Saute onion, garlic in butter. Add ground beef and brown
Stir in flour, pepper, salt, mushrooms. Cook 5 minutes. Stir in soup.Simmer uncovered 10 minutes
Stir in sour cream. Heat through
Poppy Seed Noodles
Cook noodles (however much you would like for amount of stroganoff) in boiling, salted water. Drain.
Melt small amount of butter. Add cut up, blanched almonds, stir, cook until lightly browned.
Add 2 TBSP butter to the hot, drained noodles. Add 1 tsp poppy seed noodles. Heat through
Plate noodles, add stroganoff. Sprinkle with parsley. Garnish with parsley bouquet.
