Ingredients
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 cups all bran
- 2 cups raisins
- 1 cup shortening
- 3 cups sugar
- 4 beaten eggs
- 1 litre buttermilk
- 3 tbsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 5 cups flour
- 4 cups 40% bran flakes
- 1/4 cup molasses
- nutmeg to taste

Preparation
Step 1
Pour boiling water over All Bran and raisins. Set aside to cool. Cream shortening with sugar, eggs, buttermilk, baking soda and salt. Add flour and bran flakes. Fold in molasses and nutmeg to taste. Add first mixture. Store in a plasitc container with tight fitting lid. DO NOT bake the first day. Before spooning batter into muffin tin, always stir well. Bake in 375 degree oven for 15 - 20 minutes. Batter will keep for 6 weeks
