- 3 tbsp. all purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 1/2 cups of milk
- 6 medium potatoes peeled and thinly sliced (6 cups)

Step 1
heat oven to 350 degrees, grease 2 quart casserole dish with shortning or cooking spray
in 2 quart sauce pan melt the butter over medium heat cook onion in butter about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender, stir in flour, salt, pepper. cook stirring occasionally until smooth and bubbly; remove from heat stir in milk heat to boiling, stirring constantly. boil and stir 1 minuite
spread potatoes in casserole pour sauce over potatoes cut remaining 1 tbsp. of butter into small pieces; sprinkle over potatoes
cover and bake for 30 min, uncover and bake 1 hour to 1 hour 10 mins longer until potatoes are tender. let stand 5 to 10 minuites before serving ( sauce thickens as it stands).
