Ingredients
- Strawberry Filling:
- Reese-Carrot Cake-18th b-day *****
- Tyler-Strawberry Buttercream
- Lindsay-Strawberry Layer w/ strawberry filling and frosting
- Connor-French Vanilla w/ basic buttercream frosting
- Kevin-Italian Cream
- Lauren-Giant Oatmeal Pie
- Dan-Whoopie Pies
- Audrey-"Backpack Cake" 2nd B-day
- This is a tip for Duncan Hines Cake Mix that really improves the flavor.
- 1 box mix
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup soft butter
- 2 1/2 cups thinly sliced strawberries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tsp cornstarch

Preparation
Step 1
Cake mix-
-Beat on low for 30 seconds
-Increase speed to medium for 2 minutes
-Bake as directed on box
*I use this tip on both the strawberry mix and the french vanilla mix.
Strawberry Filling:
Crush 1/2 cup berries; add water; cook 2 minutes; sieve. Mix sugar and cornstarch; gradually stir into berry juice. Cook, and stir till thick and clear. Cool slightly; pour over sliced strawberries. Cool to room temperature and use as cake filling.
