- 1 cup shortening
- 2 cups sugar
- dash salt
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk with 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 Tablespoons banilla
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup pecans chopped

cream together shortening, sugar, and salt
add eggs beat well
add buttermilk with baking soda
add vanilla
add flour
add pecans
bake in tube pan at 350* for about 1 hour
