Sugar Cookies

This is my go-to Colorado Sugar Cookie recipe. Not sure how sea level will effect it!

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter (room temp)
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 large egg
• 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
• 3 cups flour
• 1 1/4 tsp baking powder

Preparation

Step 1

Beat butter and sugar until smooth. Stir in egg and vanilla until combined. Add flour and baking powder intermittently until well combined. Refrigerate dough for 15-30 minutes so it is easier to work with. Roll between two layers of wax paper till 1/4" thick and cut desired shapes. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
