Ingredients
- Garlic Butter:
- 1 3/4 C flour
- 1 Tbl plus 2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbl. Shortening
- 4 Tbl. Cold unsalted butter cut into 1/2 pieces
- 6 oz (1 1/4 C) grated cheddar cheese
- 3/4 C milk
- 3 Tbl. Butter
- 1 garlic clove smashed
- 1 tsp. fresh parsley

Preparation
Step 1
Put rack in upper 1/3 of oven. Preheat to 425*
Spray baking sheet w/ spray.
Pulse flour, baking powder, sugar & salt in food processor.
Add shortening & pulse till combined. Add butter, pulse
4 or 5 times till butter is in pea sized pieces. Add cheese. Pulse 2 or 3 x’s.
Pour in milk & pulse just till mixture is moistened & forms a shaggy dough.
Turn out onto clean surface & gently knead until dough comes together.
Don’t overwork it.
Drop onto sheet in scant ¼ C portions, 2 in. apart & bake until golden, 15-20 min.
Melt butter w/ garlic in small saucepan over med. Heat. Cook 1 min. Stir in parsley.
Brush over biscuits.
