Ingredients

  • 4 quarts of water
  • 2 tbsp of oil
  • 1 quart of spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 tsp of pepper
  • 12 oz small curd cottage cheese
  • 1/2 tsp basil leaves
  • 5 tsp of salt (less?)
  • 1 box of jumbo shells
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 lb sausage
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1 egg, beaten

Preparation

Step 1

Bring water, 4 tsp of salt, and oil to a boil. Add shells. Cook until tender. In a bowl, mix browned sausage, browned onion, bread crumbs, 1 tsp of salt, basil, pepper, mozzarella, cottage cheese, and egg. Mix well. Stuff this mixture into the cooked shells. Arrange in baking pan. Pour spaghetti sauce over shells evenly. Cover and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.

Freezes well. If frozen, defrost completely. Cook for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
