Ingredients

  • Basil Pesto
  • 1 French Baguette, halved lengthwise
  • Arugula or Baby Spinach Leaves
  • Sliced Plum Tomatoes, seeds removed
  • Sliced Fresh Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/4 Lb. Thinly Sliced Prosciutto
  • Extra-Virgin Olive Oil

Preparation

Step 1

Spread the basil pesto on the bottom of the bread, then layer arugula, tomatoes, mozzarella, and prosciutto. Drizzle both side of the bread with EVOO. Cook on the Panini Press.
VARIATIONS:

For a Turkey & Swiss Baguette...substitute sliced turkey and Swiss cheese for prosciutto and mozzarella.

For a Prosciutto Panini...substitute roasted red peppers and shredded mozzarella for tomatoes and sliced mozzarella, then layer on sliced bread and cook in greased skillet until golden.

For a Prosciutto Style “BLT“...omit mozzarella and basil, then add sliced red onion and substitute leaf lettuce for arugula.

For a Sun-Dried Tomato Sicilian Baguette...substitute chopped sun-dried tomatoes for Roma tomatoes.

For a Sicilian Prosciutto Wrap...substitute flour tortillas for baguette.

For a Grilled Vegetable Baguette...substitute sliced grilled eggplant, zucchini, red onion and bell peppers for prosciutto and drizzle with Wish-Bone® Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing.

For a Smoked Mozzarella & Turkey...substitute sliced turkey, smoked mozzarella and chopped sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil for prosciutto, tomatoes and mozzarella.
