Creamsicle Smoothie
By GratefulSea
Cooks County says: Fruit smoothies can provide a nutritious and refreshing start to the morning, especially in the sultry summer months. This Creamsicle smoothie recipe is no exception, with its velvety blend of orange, banana, and vanilla. We skipped the ice, which just diluted the smoothie, and used flavorful frozen fruit instead. Bananas were a must for a creamy, thick texture, and honey complemented the fruit and added extra body. Whole milk and low-fat yogurt both worked well to round out the smoothie, but nonfat yogurt produced a “gritty” texture. To make your own variations of our Creamsicle Smoothie recipe, use any kind of frozen fruit from the supermarket. And feel free to freeze fresh fruit for a few hours if you happen to have it.
