Ingredients

  • 3 c flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp mace
  • 1 c butter
  • 3/4 c currants
  • 1/4 c candied fruit
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 6 Tbsp milk

Preparation

Step 1

Sift dry ingredients together
Cut in butter
Add fruit and then eggs with milk to make a soft dough
Roll to 1/4" thick
Cut in circles
Bake in a frying pan at 250 degrees 8-10 min until golden brown
