Ingredients
- 8 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 lb. boneless beef round steak, well trimmed, cut into 8 serving-size pieces
- 4 tablespoons taco seasoning mix (about 2 packages)
- 4 small onions, sliced
- 1 cup canned chopped green chiles
- 2 cups Thick 'n Chunky salsa
- 8 tablespoons chili sauce

Preparation
Step 1
1 Spray 1 1/2-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In 10-inch skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add beef; cook 4 to 5 minutes or until browned on both sides. Sprinkle both sides of steak with 2 tablespoons of the taco seasoning mix.
2 In small bowl, mix remaining 2 tablespoons taco seasoning mix with remaining ingredients. Place steak in bottom of slow cooker. Cover with half of the salsa mixture. Repeat with remaining steak and salsa mixture.
3 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 9 hours.
Serve the steak mixture over cooked rice. For a bread accompaniment, warm tortillas in the microwave.
