Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/3 C milk
  • 1/4 C chopped onion
  • 1 T Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/8 t pepper
  • 2 T brown sugar
  • 1 C crushed buttery crackers
  • 3/4 C ketchup, divided
  • 1 egg
  • 1 (8 oz. ) can crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 2 t cornstarch

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, milk, onion, egg, salt, pepper, crackers, 1/4 cup ketchup & Worcestershire sauce; mix well. Form mixture into a loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 90 minutes. In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup ketchup, pineapple, brown sugar and cornstarch; mix well. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils and thickens, stirring frequently. Spread on top of meat loaf; bake an additional 15 minutes or until meat loaf is no longer pink. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing. You may also serve sauce on the side instead of topping meatloaf but you will still need to cook it the additional time.
